| It was the year 1905 when the Kulm of Portofino mountain first opened its doors, quickly becaming a favourite holiday spot for royalty, nobles families and artists. In the year 2000, total renovations were completed, the original elegance complemented by all the modern conforts af a luxury hotel.The imperial Kursaal palace which originally housed the Casino has been transformed into a magnificent hall which can seat up to 350 people for meetings, gala events, fashion shows. Respect for environment is a priority: the hotel is dedicated to maintaining and improving the ecological equilibrium of the surrounding park. Well-marked hiking trails lead nature lovers down to San Fruttuoso and the historical Benedictine Abbey, and the riviera towns of Portofino and Camogli. The Hotel Portofino Kulm is located at 400 meters above sea level, nestled in the peaceful natural park of Mount Portofino, between Camogli and Santa Margherita. The 3 main buildings have been painstakingly restored to their original Liberty style and equipped with modern conveniences, including air conditioning in all the guest rooms and meeting halls, a covered swimming pool and fitness center. From January 9th 2006, the Wellness Center will be closed due to reconstruction works.
